About

Daði Freyr on Tour

The eccentric Daði Freyr is an Icelandic electric-pop singer, songwriter and musician. Although Freyr has been making music for over a decade, he is best known for his 2020 ultra-viral single "Think About Things." He is set to commence his 15-stop 2022 tour across the United States and Canada. Freyr's live performances are filled with upbeat, synth-heavy hooks, funky instrumentals and plenty of danceable tracks, making his show a must-see for all EDM and pop-loving fans. Starting his solo career in 2017 with his EP Næsta Skref, Freyr has continued to produce a number of singles such as "Skiptir Ekki Máli," "I Thought I'd Be More Famous by Now (Daði Freyr Remix)," "Heyri Ekki,'' and "Endurtaka Mig." He released his first album, & Co., in 2019, and followed that album with popular songs "Think About Things" in 2020 and "10 years" in 2021.

Born in Reykjavik, Iceland, Freyr started his musical career in 2012 with electric pop band Retrobot. In 2012, Retrobot won the annual Icelandic battle of the bands contest, Músíktilraunir. Shortly after, Freyr moved to Berlin where he began studying music production with the goal to win the Eurovision Song Contest. His 2017 song "Is This Love?" was submitted for Söngvakeppni, the Icelandic song contest that decides the entry into Eurovision. "Is This Love?" didn't win Söngvakeppni, but it introduced the talented Daði Freyr to the musical community. His 2020 song "Think About Things" did win Söngvakeppni and was set to be a strong contender in Eurovision until the shutdown of the contest due to COVID-19. Although falling short of his Eurovision dreams, "Think About Things" became an international hit and overnight sensation, garnering online praise from celebrities including Russell Crowe and Jennifer Garner. "Think About Things" received a silver record in the UK, was listed at No. 6 on TIME magazine's Top 10 Songs of 2020 and currently has more than 118 million streams on Spotify.

Daði Freyr puts on a fantastic show! Great interaction with the audience, sense of humor. He's genuine and you can tell that he and his bandmates truly enjoy what they're doing. Would definitely see him again!

  • The funnest concert I've ever been to

by Elio on 2024-03-26Commodore Ballroom - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

Daði is a real showman! He knows how to make the crowd laugh and have a good time. His vocals are in top form - that deep bass voice in full glory!

  • Great time

by Shanny on 2024-03-26Commodore Ballroom - VancouverRating: 4 out of 5

I booked them tickets not knowing the artist at all and he did not disappoint. He had some great crowd work that really makes you feel like apart of his show. And his music was great, really made you feel like dancing. The venue was nice big open floor. But not too big that you couldn’t enjoy the music if you were at the back. The music was great! They had good openers as well. The only thing that’s not enjoyable is waiting between the opener and the artist. It really kills the vibe having to wait almost an hour for the main event after the opener.

    by M-J on 2022-10-29Théâtre Corona - MontrealRating: 5 out of 5

Me and my husband flew from Moncton (NB) to see this show and boy it did not disappoint! It was hands down one of the best show we've seen in a long, long time. If you ever get the chance to see Dadi Freyr, please do yourself a favour and go!!

  • What an entertainer!

Dadi Fryer is amazing on stage with his band. Good songs good entertainment! I would go back to see him. The only thing is that it would have been better for us if the mezzanine of the theater would have been open because we needed to sit or at least have a chance to have a chair to sit.

  • Daðiiiiiiiiiii

by Chanelle on 2022-09-29Théâtre Corona - MontrealRating: 5 out of 5

Absolutely loved watching him! Very funky and so down to earth. Merches were lovely but I do wish there was hoodies/sweatshirts same goes for MINOE!! She was so goood! I do wish though there was ways to see them in a better view because I’m not that tall! The people next to me were almost hidden and couldn’t see the singers at all. Same goes for me!

  • First concert ever, no regrets

Dadi Freyr is a great performer, it was so funny and entertaining I throughly loved it.

  • Beyond my expectations

by Sky on 2022-09-27Théâtre Corona - MontrealRating: 5 out of 5

The experience was amazing. From the quality humor to the seemingly unlimited amount of stage energy Dadi and his small crew had, everything about that evening was breathtaking. Bravo! Also thumbs up to MINOE who performed the pre-show, which was very enjoyable as well!
