About

Cyndi Lauper is a pop singer and activist from Queens, New York. Upon the release of her 1983 debut album, She’s So Unusual, Lauper became a pop sensation, thanks to the success of Top 5 singles including “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun,” “Time After Time,” “She Bop” and “All Through the Night.” Lauper also won Best New Artist at the 1985 Grammys. Her second and third albums, True Colors (1986) and A Night to Remember (1989), added more hit singles like “True Colors” and “I Drove All Night” to her oeuvre and by the end the decade, Lauper had become synonymous with the ’80s new wave movement and synthpop sound. In addition to her twelve solo albums, Lauper also wrote the music and lyrics for the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical Kinky Boots, for which she became the first solo woman to ever win the Tony for Best Original Score. In the fall of 2024, the singer embarked on her Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Farewell Tour in conjunction with her documentary film LET THE CANARY SING.

The concert was amazing. Cyndi is a once in a lifetime persona. Had a fantastic Girls’ Night!! Thrilled to be introduced to Lu Kala. Great local talent. One question - Scotiabank Centre - what is with taking the caps from purchased water bottles?

I was at the Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Farewell Tour in Toronto and it did not disappoint! The atmosphere was very positive and they played all the hit songs from Cyndi Lauper's discography. Cyndi Lauper herself is a very good performer and storyteller. Every time a song was done, she would talk about the history behind a song, the challenges she faced, or just talk about a funny story that happened to her in the past. If this is truly the last time that she is going on tour, then I highly recommend checking out her final shows. I had nosebleed seats for her concert and I still had such a fun time. I was also more of a casual fan before her show, but after going to the Farewell Tour it made me want to dig deeper into Cyndi Lauper's discography. Overall, Cyndi Lauper was fantastic live! Go see her while she's still touring!

This was such a special show. Cyndi was incredible, the band was amazing, and the screens made the show enjoyable no matter where you were sitting. I love that they used the centre stage for part of the show as well. If you have a chance to see this tour, please go! It’s so much fun and it’s your last chance to see her on tour.

Great lighting show. Cyndi Lauper sang from her heart. Hard to understand and make out what she was saying.

I saw her about 4 years or so opening up for Rod Stewart. I was certainly a Cyndi Lauper fan as a young adult and when I saw her that night I was surprised by how many great songs she did that I had forgotten about. The concert on Sunday was not a disappointment. Her voice was still strong and her stories were amazing. It will be sad never to get the chance to see her perform again but it is a well deserved retirement. Thanks for the memories Cyndi.
