Great Concert, Smoky Venue (cough, cough)
by LiveMusicFan on 2024-11-13Grey Eagle Event Centre - CalgaryRating: 4 out of 5Collective Soul is an incredible band and performed their very best. Loved the show. What we didn't appreciate was the really bad smoky air that greeted us upon entering the Grey Eagle Event Centre. Sadly, this venue shares the same building as the Grey Eagle Casino, where smoking is allowed. A thick haze of tobacco smoke from the casino fills the hallways and even seeps into the event centre concert venue. While the air quality seemed to be at least a little bit better than a previous concert I attended at the Grey Eagle approximately a month ago, I still don't understand why the Grey Eagle casino cannot do a better job of containing the awful cigarette smoke to just the casino? PROMOTERS - Please stop using the Grey Eagle for concerts like this until they clean their air for concert attendees. A show like this would have been a MUCH better experience at a place like the Jubilee Auditorium at SAIT.
