  • Simple Minds are showing their age

by 80soldguy on 2018-10-03Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - TorontoRating: 3 out of 5

Despite the addition of a new energetic female drummer, the band seemed to lack the energy they displayed at their last concert at Massey Hall 5 years ago. Perhaps it was the somewhat subdued audience that had to be continually reminded to clap along. While the show was very competent, it seemed to lack the sheer joy of performing as displayed by OMD earlier this year.

  • Great show

by Annabella8 on 2018-10-03Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

No gimmicks or tricks...just straight up tunes. Two sets with 20 min intermission.

  • Perfection

by brit80 on 2018-10-03Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

I have now seen Simple Minds for the 2nd time in Toronto, and this concert by far was the best. Jims energy and his interaction with the audience was amazing. His band is equally talented. Charlie is a sweetheart and damn he knows how to play.... The concert lightshow was mesmerizing!! .

  • Brought back wonderful memories

by Ltmbys on 2018-10-03Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Amazing show and sound, band was fantastic and Jim Kerr was his typical brilliant performance.,only wish they played Love Song.

  • Simple Minds Sounded Great!

by Sweetchimes on 2018-10-03Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

I was so pleased with the way the entire band sounded and the Sony Centre is my favourite venue to see live music, so they especially soured there! Jim Kerr was funny and just the right amount of "engaging" as needed for the evening. I was pleased that they played most of their hits; however disappointed they didn't play my favourite song "Love Song". All in all, a great evening of music and entertainment!

  • Simple Minds were amazing.

by DewkaRich on 2018-10-03Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

The new songs from Simple Minds Walk Between Worlds album are awesome. They have not lost their touch with the way they sound from the past and present. They played their greatest hits flawlessly. The crowd was on their feet for the entire concert!

  • Funny Scott’s Man

by skstevens on 2018-10-03Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

The only issue I had with this show is they never played my favourite Song called Love Song Jim Kerr seemed to like the audiences reaction and enthusiasm.

  • Simple Minds VIP Meet and Greet Toronto

by Louguy20 on 2018-10-03Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

AMAZING. Jim and Charlie kept coming up to us for close in poses while performing. Meet and greet was awesome, band members were so friendly and warm with us. They signed a special birthday Setlist for my daughter. During Soundcheck they used one of my questions. After the Soundcheck I brought my daughter to the front and Jim saw me and quickly reached out to her knowing it was my daughter.. Wished her a happy birthday while holding her hand. She was in awe. During the show Jim grabbed and held my hand during Someone Somewhere in Summertime while I was recording. During Sanctify Yourself Sarah came to me and held the mic to me to sign.. It was an all round amazing night for us.

  • Simple Minds was a great show

by Luau32 on 2018-10-03Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Simple Minds was as good as ever. The band played many of its old hits as well as new material. The connection with the fans was great.

  • Simple Minds - 1985 Flashback !

by Newitt on 2018-10-03Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

I last saw Simple Minds on Nov 8 1985, they sounded just as good !

  • Simple Minds

by stephwoo on 2018-10-03Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

They put on a GREAT show. I would have regretted not seeing them. It felt like Jim's voice wasn't as strong as 30yrs ago (seriously whose would be?) but they had great back up singers and audience participation to make the evening fun - they played two full sets + extended encore.

  • Still Alive & Kicking!!

by redzilla on 2018-10-03Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Wow! Wow! Wow! I was NOT expecting them to rock as hard as they did!! They sounded AMAZING!!! The whole band was so tight!!! It was a great show!! I’m so glad I went!!

  • Simple Minds were amazing!

by Cafe on 2018-10-03Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

They played several songs spanning their entire career. Great interaction with audience and an intermission between sets was a welcome surprise.

  • I won't Forget About You!

by Quebecoise on 2018-10-03Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

Simple Minds were stellar in that they performed extra songs at their Toronto show to the delight of the crowd. It would have been absolute perfection, however, if Simple Minds had offered-up their signature hit song (my favourite of theirs) "Love Song" which is the Simple Minds equivalent of 80's era band New Order's "Blue Monday". I had a great time.

  • Boring but glad I saw them

by Skeez17 on 2018-10-03Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - TorontoRating: 3 out of 5

I love Simple Minds and I was hoping for an exciting show but it was bland and flat. Having grown up listening to SM, I had hoped for more old content and less new content with back-up singers singing lead.

  • Simple minds not so simple

    by LSQ68 on 2018-10-01MTELUS - MontrealRating: 4 out of 5

One of my favorited bands, I have never missed a concert they have played in Montreal starting way back in the 80's. They never disappoint and this time the drummer killed it.

  • by Anonymous on 2018-10-01MTELUS - MontrealRating: 5 out of 5

Very good show. The artists are very generous too!

  • super show....

by Mikesrh on 2018-10-01MTELUS - MontrealRating: 4 out of 5
