  • Low on Christmas spirit

by TOfan on 2023-11-28OLG Stage at Fallsview Casino - Niagara FallsRating: 3 out of 5

Sarah Brightman is one of my favourite artists but I couldn’t help feeling that the concert could have been so much more. The normal elements of Sarah’s concerts are there, with her knowledge of lighting effects and changing costumes and scenery applied to make each song a bit different. However, for a tour branded as a “Christmas Symphony”, it wasn’t very christmasy. Most artists doing Christmas concerts have dancers, background visuals, on-stage props and decorations, as well as tinsel falling through the air. Not having dancers made her solo dancing a bit awkward looking, especially when she got too into it while her entire stage crew were stationary, looking like they were refusing to join her Christmas spirit. Songs like “Arrival” and “I Believe in Father Christmas” needed a lot more visual enhancement because the songs are very upbeat but the staging did not match nor contribute to the songs in any way, making the performances look a bit stiff for such upbeat songs. Hence the importance of having dancers. The set list had some classics which were nice. I’ve seen Sarah’s Symphony, Dreamchaser, and Hymn tours in Toronto, and this concert paled in comparison. The OLG venue also had poor acoustics where Sarah was echoing during some parts. The venue was also poorly heated and felt really cold for the entire performance.

  • Sarah was as they say in England "Brilliant"

by Leo on 2023-11-27Place Bell - LavalRating: 4 out of 5

Sarah's voice is all you need for a show like this, it is so impressive and breathtaking. The set list selection was awesome, I never expected to hear Greg Lakes' "I believe in Father Christmas"and the Phantom medley was impeccable. Highly recommended.

  • Again, A Great Show by Sarah Brightman

by S Oprea on 2023-11-27OLG Stage at Fallsview Casino - Niagara FallsRating: 5 out of 5

A wonderful show, Sarah has the same exquisite voice and charming personality. She chose her repertory with care, taking us from Christmas songs to opera and musical arias, accompanied by a full orchestra and choir, and all well staged. A concert of a true professional! The only minus was the theatre OLG Stage at Niagara Falls, which was cold and blowing cold air. Trying to approach ushers, security personnel was in vain, nobody would contact the management to solve this issue. A late November show, with women dressed for the occasion, the theatre was not welcoming.

  • Great performance! Would have enjoy 100% if……

by WY on 2023-11-26OLG Stage at Fallsview Casino - Niagara FallsRating: 5 out of 5

Beautiful voice, great performance! One suggestion I’d like make for the OLG Stage is that, there should be reminder to the audience that do not disturb others by behaviours such as tapping on the front chairs with their foot along with the music, or sing along(especially out of tune). It is very distracting during the concert while your chair/back constantly being tapped.
